William Gunsmoke"" Collett

Mr. William "Gun smoke" Collett, born February 26, 1930 in Leslie County, KY to the union of the late Caleb and Hazel Napier Collett. He departed this life on Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center at the age of 82 years. He was a life long resident of Leslie County and was residing at Essie, KY at the time of his passing. By occupation, he was a logger, coal miner and factory worker. He was united in marriage to his loving and devoted wife, Laura Belle Collett on July 05, 1974 in Virginia. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and C.B. radios. William is preceded in death by his parents; sons: Darrell, Bruce, Hargis and Ronald. Grandson: Allen; Brothers: Ewell, Lester, Chester and Clyde Collett; sisters: Ellie Caudill, Gracie Griffith, Lola Roark, Anna Lee Harris and Florence Smith. Mother of Children: Loshia Collett. Mr. William "Gunsmoke" Collett leaves surviving the following relatives: His loving and devoted wife: Laura Belle Collett of Essie, KY; Sons: Harold Collett of Essie, KY, Lloyd Collett of Essie, KY, Anthony Collett (Juanita) of London, KY, William Collett, Jr. of Essie, KY, Alex Brock of Essie, KY, Paul Brock of Camden, TN, Jeffery Brock (Darlene) of Camden, TN and Clyde Brock (Rita) of Stinnett, KY; 3 daughters: Raymonda Whitaker (Jim) - Bonnyman, KY, Donna Roark (Lloyd) of Bear Branch, KY and Trilla Brock of Chicago, IL; 4 brothers: Harold Collett (Goldie) of Roark, KY, Caleb Collett, Jr. of Roark, KY, Don Roark of Manchester, KY and Adam Roark of Manchester, KY. 37 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. A host of other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at the Lower Jack's Creek United Methodist Church with Carl Brown, Chuck Jack, Randy Woods and Roger Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Collett Cemetery at Essie, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation after 6:00 P.M. - Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the church.
