Alpha Jane (Turner) Adams

March 26, 1942 — February 21, 2021

Hyden, Kentucky

Alpha Jane Adams, a daughter of the late James “Jim” and Cinda Pennington Turner, was born March 26, 1942 in Hyden, Kentucky.  She was united in marriage to Willard Adams on October 09, 1965 in Baker Fork.

She was the co-owner and operator of the Adams Gift Shop & Music and the A&S Value Tree in Hyden.  Alpha was a life-long resident of Hyden, Kentucky was a member of the Stinnett Church of Christ at Stinnett, KY.  Alpha was an avid wrestling fan, she also enjoyed fishing.  Her greatest joy came from gardening, harvesting and canning her garden goods.  In her later years, she enjoyed raising chickens.

In addition to her parents, Alpha was preceded in death by four brothers, Nick, Chester, Henry and Corbin “Dobber” Turner; four sisters, Goldie Curry, Fannie Estridge, Sarah Pennington and Jewel Dean Adams; one cherished grandson, Jason Baker.

Alpha leaves behind her beloved children; three sons, Dwayne Adams & Carrie of Hyden, KY, James Adams & Leah of Hyden, KY and  Michael Adams & Regina of London, KY; one daughter, Rhonda Nelson of Hyden, KY; one special niece she loved as her own, Barbara Boggs of Smilax, KY; three sisters, Mary Baker of Yeaddiss, KY, Della Asher of Smilax, KY and Stella Adams of Yeaddiss, KY; eight cherished grandchildren, Jerry Wayne, Joey, Devin, Casey, Kayla, Tanner, Dalton and Trent; five cherished great-grandchildren, Kendall, Kaden, Kayleigh, Landon and Mason.  She also leaves behind a host nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon – Thursday at the Stinnett Church of Christ with Keith Bowling officiating.  Interment will follow in the Turner – Adams Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY with Devin Adams, Casey Adams, Tanner Smith, Dwayne Adams, Joey Sizemore, and Hobart Napier serving as pallbearers.  The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. – Wednesday evening at the church.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
