Bertha Turner, 78, of Yeaddiss, KY departed this life on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center, Hazard, KY. Bertha was born October 10, 1943 in Leslie County, a daughter of the late Orie Joseph and Ida Pennington. Bertha was a homemaker. She was of the Pentecostal faith and attended the Smith Camp Pentecostal Church at Wooton, KY. Bertha enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, gardening, caring for her chickens and flowers. Above all, Bertha enjoyed spending time with her family and attending church.
In addition to her parents, Bertha was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, Elvin Williams, her second husband, Ivory Turner, one son, Nick Williams, a grandson, Michah Andrew Bull, uncle, Dent Pennington and aunts, Fannie Pennington and Mallie Logan.
Bertha leaves behind, two sons, Michael Williams of Big Laurel, KY, and Charles Ray Williams of Yeaddiss, KY; three daughters, Mallie Coots (Jackie) of Big Laurel, KY, Betty Sue Coots (Benny) of Big Laurel, KY and Ida Pennington (Bill) of Wooton, KY; sixteen cherished grandchildren, fourty cherished great-grandchildren and five cherished great-great grandchildren; three very special friends, Rosalee & Donald Kilburn and Betty Napier. She is also survived by a host of other family and friends whom she loved.
Funeral Services will be held at 3p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Smith Camp Pentecostal Church at Wooton, KY with Alfred Smith and Stevie McDaniel officiating.
Interment will follow in the Will Day Cemetery at Smilax, KY with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the funeral hour on Saturday at the church.
