Betty Doris Griffith

Betty Doris Griffith age 71 of Hyden, Kentucky wife of  Lloyd Griffith, passed away Thursday April 25, 2019 at the Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Ky.  Doris was born October 16th, 1947, she was the daughter of Alonzo Howard Sr. and Orpha (Young) Howard.  Doris was a member of Hyden Church of God.  She worked a number of years  at the Hyden City Hall.  She enjoyed working in her flowers and spending time with her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers William and Eugene Howard, two sisters Jean Howard and Virginia Cox, fathers of her children Julian Bentley and Sam Burns.  Survivors include daughters, Doris Gail Asher and Debbie (Alan) Densmore of Hyden, Kentucky.  Sons, Tommy (Wendy) Bentley, Tony (Carolyn) Burns and Ethan Burns all of Hyden, Kentucky.  Three sisters, Juanita Lewis, Viola Adams, Phronia Begley all of Hyden, Kentucky.  Brothers,  five brothers, Paul Howard (Carolyn) of Hyden, KY, Alonzo “Bug” Howard, Jr. (Peggy) of Hyden, KY, James Edward Howard (Patty Ann) of Newport, KY, Robert Roland Howard of Hyden, KY, and Bennie Carol Howard (Nancy) of Newport, KY.  Seven grandchildren, Dwayne, Corey, Brian, Hayden, Chelsea, Tyler and Aiden, five great-grandchildren, and a nephew, Ralph Feltner.   A host of other relatives and friends also mourn her passing.

Funeral services will be conducted  Monday April 29th, 2019 in the chapel of the Wolfe and Sons Funeral Home with Wayne Bowling and Robbie Horton officiating.  Burial will follow in the Howard Family Cemetery in Hyden, Kentucky.  The familly will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from noon till the funeral hour at 3:00 p.m..  Those serving as pallbearers are Dwayne Stevens, Issac Stevens, Johnathon Hoskins, Ethan Burns, Tommy Bentley, Tony Burns, Eldon Hoskins, Corey Bentley and Alan Densmore.
