Clinton Lewis was born on April 22, 1937, in Leslie County to the union of the late Juder and Helen Couch Lewis. Clinton was of the Pentecostal faith. By occupation, he was a retired coal miner and carpenter. He was a talented craftsman; especially in a musical instrument such as dulcimers. He was a talented musician, enjoying playing the guitar and singing with his family. Clinton was loved by all; he never met a stranger. He was outgoing and friendly with all he encountered.
Clinton departed this walk of life on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the age of 85.
In addition to his parents, Clinton was preceded in death by his son, Wendall Lewis, and a daughter Yvonne Riber – Lewis. Three sisters, Sadie Rice, Nancy Welch, Mae Sizemore, and Rosie Lewis, and a granddaughter, Abbigail Ramirez.
Clinton leaves behind, one daughter, Lorretta Ramirez (John) of Dayton, OH, an ex-wife, Thelma Lewis, one stepson, James Tipton of Thousandsticks, KY, and one stepdaughter, Tammie Tipton of Washington State. Other survivors include three brothers, Frank Lewis (Verna), Purl Lewis (Rose), and Thurman Lewis (Poshia), all of Thousandsticks, KY. Two sisters, Polly Schafer of Dayton, OH, and Mildred Freeman of Lexington, KY. One special brother-in-law, Charlie Rice of Hyden, KY, and three cherished grandchildren, Adrian Ramirez, Sarah Jo Emmons (Joey), and Christina Williams. Six cherished great-grandchildren, Garrett Burns, Joshua Taylor, Abbygail Vallotton, William Vallotton, and Malana Jenkins. A host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends also survive.
A Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Saturday, November 05, 2022 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
Interment will follow the service at the Lewis Family Cemetery at Thousandsticks, KY.
The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the chapel.
