Obituary for Mr. Curtis “Poor Boy” Melton
Mr. Curtis Melton, born on January 7, 1940 in Wooton, He is preceded in death by his father and mother Felix and Rebecca Melton, loving and devoted wife Irene Melton, beloved son Derek Melton. One sister Ethel Bray, one brother Monroe Melton and sister- n – law Laurie Melton. Curt passed away on March 3, 2022 at the ARH Mary Breckinridge Hospital at the age of 82.
Curtis was a life long Truck Driver until he retired. He enjoyed his family more than life itself, and always made sure they all had what they needed and wanted. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren more than anything. He loved sitting and watching them run wild all over Meltonville and playing. Curtis enjoyed watching Nascar with Danielle every Sunday and watching cartoons with all his grandbabies. Enjoyed his nightly talks with his nephew Ricky. He was a very special man that was LOVED and RESPECTED by ALL HIS FAMILY and FRIENDS
Curt leaves the following relatives surviving, two Daughters Mildred Irene Spencer (William) and Donna Kaye Melton; three Granddaughters, Tiffany Kaye Kilburn (Eric), Amanda Irene Collett (Josh) and Danielle Rebecca Spencer; six Great Grandchildren Kyleigh MaKayren Napier, Sophia Irene Collett, Ben Riley Collett, Jayden Curtis Collett, Easton Daniel Kilburn and Milliana Kate Collett. One Brother Bennie Melton (Izena) of Wooton, Special Nephew Kenny Bray and Niece Regina Smith of Ohio and a host of Nieces and Nephews, Cousins, Family and Friends survive.
Funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Wooton Presbyterian Church with Greg Whitaker officiating and reading of the obituary by William Spencer.
Interment will follow in the Meltonville Family Cemetery at Wooton, KY with the following serving as pallbearers: William Spencer, Eric Kilburn, Josh Collett, Dalton Brown Melton
Patrick Melton, Jason Collett, Brian Hubbard, and Preston Napier. Serving as honorary pallbearers: Joshua Michael Smith, Ricky Melton, and Kenny Bray.
Family will receive friends for visitation from 1:00 till 2:00 P.M Sunday at Wooton Presbyterian Church.
