Doug Bussell departed his walk of life June 17th, 2021, at the University of Louisville hospital in Louisville, Kentucky at the age of 54. He was born September 30th, 1966, in Hamilton, Ohio to the union of the late Albert Lee and Sandra Ann Ballinger Bussell. He was united in marriage to his wife Melissa on October 21st, 2006. By occupation, Doug was an auto mechanic, employed by Sizemore’s Service Center. Doug enjoyed life and enjoyed shooting guns, playing cornhole, and riding ATV’s. Above all he enjoyed grilling for cookouts and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his mother-in-law Pauline Smead.
Doug leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Melissa Bussell of Hyden, Kentucky, one son, Austin Bussell of Hyden, Kentucky, one daughter, Kaitlyn Bussell (Austin Goins) of Hyden, Kentucky. Other survivors include his sister-in-law, Tonya Lewis (David) of Wooton, Kentucky, nephews, Marcus Coots of Hazard, Kentucky, Conner Nightingale and Ethan Nightingale, of Wooton, KY, a great niece, Brylei McKee of Corbin, Kentucky, special friends he loved as his brother and sister, Daniel and Laura Sizemore of Hyden, Kentucky, and his special buddy Logan Sizemore of Hyden, Kentucky.
Funeral service for Doug Bussell will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Roger Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow at the Windchime Haven Cemetery at Wooton, Kentucky, with the following serving as pallbearers, Austin Bussell, David Lewis, Daniel Sizemore, Logan Sizemore, Austin Goins, Timmy Brock, and Josh Shepherd. The family will receive friends for the visitation from 11:00 A.M. until the service hour at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
