George Denver Couch

George Denver Couch of Hwy 1482, Oneida, Kentucky was born April 19, 1962, in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of the late George Couch and Hilda Barger.  He was united in marriage May 30, 1980, to Patricia Martin, who preceded him in death on March 11, 2021.  By occupation, he was an auto mechanic.  Denver, as most knew him, was a devout Christian and dedicated member of the Panco Community Church.  There he served as a bus driver.  The children he hauled through the years always admired Denver and his genuine care shown towards them.  He devoted his life to serving the Lord and helping others.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and making sure everyone’s needs were met.  He had a servant’s heart and was a role model to many.  He was a beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, church member and friend.   Denver departed this walk of life on Saturday, August 07, 2021, at his home in Oneida.  He was 59 years old.

Survivors include, two sons, Scotty Couch of Oneida, KY and Anthony Tanner of East Bernstadt, KY; one daughter, Kristy Napier of Irvine, KY, and his loving father, Claude Martin of Oneida, KY.  Other survivors include, four brothers, William Couch & Trish of Berea, KY, Howard Couch & Jeanie of Oneida, KY, Claude Martin, Jr. & Mallie of Oneida, KY, and Cecil Wayne Couch & Pricilla of Barbourville, KY; four sisters, Kathy Jean Romer of Oneida, KY, Elzie Elaine Barger & Edmond of Hyden, KY, Daisy Jewell Begley & Gary of Oneida, KY and Ora Lee Miller & Randall of Sizerock, KY; three cherished grandchildren, Quentin Tucker & Lavonna, Damion Tanner and Destiny Tanner;  special friends,  Randall & Harvey Gay, Carl & Rick Barnes, Ralph & Geraldine Bowling, Ronnie & Rhonda Barger and Luke Goossen.  A host of family, friends and church family also survive his passing.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. – Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home chapel with Jerry Rice officiating and eulogy by his grandson, Quintin Tucker.  Interment will follow in the Granville Barger Cemetery at Saul, Kentucky with the following serving as pallbearers, Quentin Tucker, Damion Tanner, Anthony Tanner, Luke Goossen, Willie Couch, Andrew Martin, Randall Miller and Marcus Gipson.  The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M. – Tuesday evening at the funeral home chapel.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
