Hazel Barger Rickman was born January 17, 1940 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of the late William Barger and Ida Feltner Green. Hazel was a former resident of Sizerock, KY and was residing in Franklin, NC at the time of her passing. Hazel was a member of Cowee Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. She will be remembered for her contagious smile and her love for her family. Hazel departed this life on Monday, February 01, 2021. She was 81 years old.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elzie Couch and then her second husband, William Roger Rickman; and two daughters, Gracie Dean Jackson, and Kathleen Dills
Hazel is survived by her children, Denver Couch (Janet) of Salem, IN, Geraldine Bowling (Ralph) of Sizerock, KY, Bettie Sue Couch of Franklin, and Stephanie Hamilton of GA. She also is survived by two brothers, Charles Edward Feltner of Manchester, KY, and Paul A. Feltner of Oneida, KY; and one sister, Rosatta Gilbert of Oneida, KY. Fourteen grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. – Saturday, February 06, 2021 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Haystack Cemetery at Panco, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. – Friday evening at the funeral home chapel.
