Mr. Howard Sizemore  of London, KY, formerly of Hyden, KY was born, May 02, 1931 in Roark, Kentucky, to the union of the late Onzie and Stella Howard Sizemore.  He was united in marriage to Ernestine Colwell on November 23, 1955 in Pennington Gap, VA.

In his younger years shortly after marriage, he moved to Bellevue, Kentucky where he would start a family.  There he owned and operated a Texco Service Station. Eventually, he moved back to his home roots of Eastern, Ky and went to work in the coal mines at the Blue Diamond Coal Company.  In his later years before his final retirement, he worked at the W.B. Muncy Elementary School at Wooton, KY as the sanitizing and custodial supervisor.  While working at W.B. Muncy, he enjoyed his work and looked forward to seeing the students everyday.  Students brought a smile to his face and would often surprise him with a gift or offer a kind word.

Howard was of the Baptist faith and was ordained as deacon at the Hyden Baptist Church, along side his brother in Christ and beloved friend, the late James Morgan.  Howard was a devout Christian and a dedicated member of the church.  He was faithful in his attendance and was always present to oversee projects to the end.  He sang faithfully in the choir and was most known for his two favorite songs to sing, "Wayfaring Stranger" and "Lily of the Valley".  He served faithfully as deacon until moving to London in 2015.

Howard found enjoyment in many things; in former years, he enjoyed fishing and squirrel hunting.  In the spring and summer months, you could find Howard doing yard work, gardening and raising chickens.  He had a love for the outdoors and took pride in keeping his home and yard well groomed.  His most recent hobbies including drawing and working word puzzles.  Above all, Howard cherished his family and especially his grandchildren and the time spent with them.  They were his pride and joy.

Howard departed this earthly walk of life on Friday, March 11, 2022 at the Baptist Health in Corbin, KY.  Howard was 90 years old.

In addition to his parents, Howard was preceded in death by three brothers, John Henry, Carroll and Orville Sizemore, three sisters, Mildred Sizemore, Dorothy Howard and Maggie Palumbi.  One son in law, George R. Collins.
