Linda Sue (Bowling) Barrett

Linda Sue Bowling Barrett was born February 15, 1954 in Dayton, OH to the union of the late Harry Ford Bowling and the late Faye Hacker Bowling.

Linda was a homemaker and had worked in former years as a waitress in the restaurant business.  She was an avid UK basketball fan and enjoyed NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt.  Above all, Linda enjoyed line dancing.  She was kind and caring, with a genuine concern for everyone.  She was a mother figure to many people over the years.

Linda departed this walk of life on April 13, 2023 at the age of 69.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Paul Bowling.

Survivors include one son, Gregory Barrett (Amanda) of Manchester, KY, two daughters, Vickie Loving (Glenn) of Berea, KY and Miranda Barrett of London, KY.  Five sisters, Wanda Powers (Lloyd) of Hyden, KY, Joann Herring of Somerset, KY, Kathy Napier (Bill) of Somerset, KY, Debbie Turner (Doug) of Hyden, KY, and Diane Mosley (Johnny) of Hyden, KY.  Her beloved companion and father of her children, J.C. Barrett of London, KY.  One sister-in-law, Hallie Bowling of Hyden, KY.  Eight cherished grandchildren, Natasha Reeves, Jonathan Maggard, Andrea Barrett, Joshua Barger, Andrew Barrett, Jacob Barrett, Emily Barrett, Chris Collett, Tyler Collett, and Alexis Sizemore. Seventeen great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.

The funeral service for Linda Sue Bowling Barrett will be held at 1p.m. – Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Ted Couch officiating and reading of the obituary by Connie Adams.

Interment will follow in the Bowling – Napier Cemetery at Hyden, KY with Chris Collett, Jonathan Maggard, Josh Barger, Seth Mosley, Brandon Mills, Tyler Collett, and Ben Turner serving as pallbearers.

The visitation will be held at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home on Monday evening from 6p.m. – 9p.m.
