Patrick Smith (of Hyden, Kentucky) was born in Hyden, Kentucky on May 04, 1984.  He was the youngest son of the late James and Patricia Bowling Smith.  Pat was a Leslie County native and a graduate of Leslie County High School.  Pat was a radio personality and was known by many people in the region.  Pat was the co-founder and co-host of the radio show, “Kill Your Radio” which aired regularly on WMMT.  His show started as a podcast and went on to become a reputable radio show.  Pat interviewed many well- known artists during his career.  He was an accomplished writer, author and publisher.  Pat published a book some years ago and currently worked as a writer for the Leslie County News.  Pat enjoyed the Music Festival Circuit and being around the thing he loved most, music.  He had a personality that was larger than life and would likely greet you with a smile and a hug.  Other than attending music festivals and writing, Pat loved to cook.  He was known mostly for his homemade pretzel and cheeseit bites.  Above all, Patrick treasured the time spent with his children.  Patrick died suddenly, Saturday, October 12, 2019 in Manchester, TN, doing what he loved, attending a music festival.  Patrick was 35 years old.

In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Rufus and Wanda Morgan Smith, and his maternal grandparents, Hubert Bowling and Jean Day.

Patrick leaves behind two cherished children, Bristol James Scott Smith and Aribella Patricia Sky Smith, both of Red Bird, KY; a beloved brother, Scott Smith & wife, Monica of Hyden, KY; a special niece, Bailey Smith of Hyden, KY.  Patrick also leaves behind a multitude of friends and family to cherish his memory.
