Mr. Thomas “Tommy” Lowe of Hyden, Kentucky was born September 08, 1937 in Perry County, KY to the union of the late Benjamin & Georgia Neace Lowe.  He was united in marriage to Shirley Lewis on May 26, 1960 in Hyden, KY.

Tommy had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and by occupation, he was a retired coal miner.  Tommy was of the Church of Christ Faith and served as pastor of the Cutshin Church of Christ with over 40 years of dedicated service.  In his younger years, Tommy worked for Hyden Appliance.  Tommy was one of the founding members of the first fire department in Leslie County, the Leslie County Fire Department.  He was a dedicated member and was faithful in his response to the community for many years.

Tommy enjoyed going to church, reading his Bible, fishing and spending time with his family and loved ones.

He departed this walk of life on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was 85 years old.

In addition to his parents, Tommy was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Ray and James Thomas Lowe, three sisters, Charlene Lewis, Polly Lewis and Lucy Collins.

Survivors include his loving & devoted wife of 62 years, Shirley Lewis Lowe of Hyden, KY, one son, Chris Lowe (Gloria), one daughter, Sherry Lowe Burg (Don) of OH, one sister, Matilda Holder of Clay City, KY, two granddaughters, Jossie & Ella Lowe of Hyden, KY, six grandsons, James Anthony Lowe (Tabitha) of Stinnett, KY, Eric Thomas Lowe (Rachel) of Hyden, KY, Aaron Begley of OH, Austin Lowe of Covington, KY, C.J. Lowe and James Lowe of Hyden, KY.  Three special great-grandchildren, Timothy Lowe, Bennett Lowe and Lilliana Lowe.  A host of other relatives and friends also survive.

FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 11A.M. - WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 30, 2022 AT WOLFE & SONS FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
